It was a fierce battle in New Home as the Leopards welcomed the Lubbock Cooper Liberty Patriots to varsity football. In a tale of two halves, the Leopards’ offense stole the show in the first hIalf with two long Caleb Cook-to-Colby Cook touchdown passes (65 yards, 75 yards), with a Ryder Starkey touchdown run sandwiched between, giving the Leopards a 21-7 lead. The second half saw the Patriots’ defense shut down the Leopard offense while scoring two fourth-quarter touchdowns to bring the game to 21-20. However, a late fourth-down stop by the Leopard defense sealed the victory for New Home.
