Bushland Falcon Baseball ready to tame the Mustangs

Coming off an impressive Area Championship winning performance over the Littlefield Wildcats the Falcons have their sights set on the #4 ranked Shallowater Mustangs in the Regional Quarterfinals.

In the Regional Quarterfinals the Falcons will look to build on the solid pitching and great defense that has been the story of the first 2 rounds of the playoffs. The pitching staff has been led by Josh Bass and Cannon Melban who have allowed just 7 runs thru 4 games. Bass, the Game 1 starter in both series has logged 11 innings, striking out 13 while sporting a 1.64 ERA. Game 2 starter Melban has been equally as busy on the mound logging 11 1/3 innings while striking out 11.

When asked about what he sees in Shallowater coming into this matchup Coach Love said "They are a good baseball team I believe we are similar in a lot of areas. They have good pitching and are good at the plate! They have the upper hand in experience with 6-7 seniors but our kids and program expect to be here and have been here many times before. It should be a good battle between two good teams."

The series will kick off on Thursday night at 5pm at the Amarillo High Baseball Complex. If you can't make it out to the game you can catch all the action on the Bushland FM broadcast streamed on Facebook.com/bushlandfm
