Lubbock Cooper survived a five set road battle at Frenship Memorial, Childress outlasted Idalou in five, while Tascosa, Amarillo High, Randall, Canyon and West Plains continued to make their moves in district play.

The biggest story of the night came in Amarillo, where Tascosa knocked off Amarillo High for the first time since 2010, ending a drought that stretched more than 15 years and shaking up the District 3-5A race. Friday night delivered one of the biggest rivalry showdowns of the weekend as Lubbock Cooper took down Frenship, adding another chapter to a matchup that always seems to bring plenty of energy.
